411 Informational Series
February 4, 2009 and March 24, 2009

The City of Lynchburg's retail businesses met on February 4th, 2009 at 8 am at the City's Information Technology building to learn more about the Buxton Retail Research Study commissioned by the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority. The study compiles demographic information and spending habits to create a "psychographic profile of consumers in Lynchburg. This information is then used to produce a list of "Best fit retailers" as well as retail gaps or opportunities. 907 invitations were issued and attendees included Danny Givens from Givens Books and Jeff Fedorka from Riverside Runners, two very successful local retail entrepreneurs.

On March 24th the real estate and development business community was invited to an informational meeting on the Buxton Retail Research at the Public Library from 9:00 to 10:30 am. This meeting focused on the retailers Buxton identified as a good fit for Lynchburg.
