Business leaders gathered at the Point of Honor Carriage House on Wednesday evening, December 5, 2007 to hear Lynchburg City Manager Kimball Payne elaborate on what the city is doing to retain and attract business. A warm community welcome was extended to John Klein, President of Randolph College, and his wife Susan. Payne's comments covered numerous topics including workforce development, downtown revitalization, and parking. Among those in attendance were Bill Semones, Centra; Brenda Gray, Bank of The James; Ed Koepenick, Sperry Van Ness; Jim Hicks, AREVA; Marc Jordon, United Way of Central Virginia; Mort Sajadian, Amazement Square; Tulane Patterson, Generation Solutions; and, Urs Gabathuler, Main Street Eatery. Dr. Scott Garrett, City Councilman; Massie Ware, Chairman, and Mark Varah, Vice Chairman, of the Lynchburg Industrial Development Authority were in attendance also.
